Soundboard of the special class

The Kawai wood technology uses all of senses ... seeing, smelling, feeling, to select the best woods. The soundboards of the K-series are finished of massive, very straight-grained spruce, which is very carefully selected, asymmetrical vaulted and scientifically tested, to fulfil Kawai's high demands to the resonance behaviour and to the best sound.

The most precise piano action of the world

Trough the combination of material strength, stability, precision and reliability is Kawai's ULTRA RESPONSIVE™ action leading. Te hammer head are made of 100% pressed "Premium" wool. To make the action resistant to climatic and seasonal changes in temperature and humidity, Kawai pioneered the use of aluminium action rails and hammer rest rails, and we construct certain highly stressed components of friction-reducing, high-impact ABS Styran.

The back posts construction

The laminated back posts of the K-series are designed for maximum rigidity to provide enhanced tuning stability for decades of reliable performance.

Kawai’s Millennium III Upright Action

Epitomising KAWAI’s ‘quest for perfection’ the, Millennium III Upright Action has been developed to enhance the three performance elements that professional pianists most desire- speed, control, and power the introduction of stronger ABS Carbon components has allowed KAWAI Scientists to develop lighter action parts without sacrificing strength. Moreover, structural enhancements and numerous design subtleties, further optimise key repetition and response speed, providing a remarkably intimate playing experience.

Kawai Anytime II Series

By incorporating the traditional qualities of an acoustic instrument with the flexibility and convenience provided by digital technology, Kawai Anytime pianos allow musicians to enjoy a rich, natural sound when performing publicly. Or the discretion of using headphones during private study. Such functionally is ideally suited to the close proximity practice environments of educational institutions yet is also particularly useful when family members or neighbors are sleeping or engaged in other activities.

When functioning as a regular acoustic instrument, Kawai Any Time pianos are undistinguishable from an equivalent Kawai K series upright or Kawai RX series grand, sharing the same extraordinary performance and meticulous craftsmanship that embodies KAWAI’s celebrated 80 year legacy. Yet, should greater privacy be desired, enabling the Kawai Any Time mode will mute the acoustic sound, allowing pianists to practice using headphones. Furthermore digital operation greatly extends the capabilities of a traditional acoustic instrument, providing transpose and tuning facilities, a metronome and song recorder, and a selection of high fidelity sounds for various musical occasions.
